Dalva Porto Colheita 2001, commemorative and limited edition.

To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Alto Douro Wine Region as a World Heritage Site, C. da Silva has launched a commemorative and limited edition: Dalva Porto Colheita 2001.Twenty years ago, UNESCO recognised the Douro’s exceptional and universal value as a landscape constructed over centuries by generations of different cultures under difficult conditions and at times with superhuman effort. Fruit of a complex alchemy between grape varieties, terroir, climate, love and human artistry, wine is also the expression of this collectiveand multisecular cultural construction.

Crafted by the oenologist José Manuel Sousa Soares, this commemorative edition by Dalva will be limited to 3,000 bottles, produced from the important stocks of port wine ageing in C. Da Silva’s historic cellars. Porto Dalva Colheita 2001, created from grapes harvested in exactly the same year as that in which the Douro Valley was honoured by UNESCO, is therefore an homage by C. Da Silva to all the men and women who built, and continue to build, the Alto Douro Wine Region.


